Rory specializes in fisheries and marine biology. His work focuses on using data to evaluate potential project impacts to the environment, specifically using sophisticated tools such as R and ArcGIS. Rory applies his knowledge of these tools on projects to protect important local species such as eelgrass and endangered fish species. Rory also has a working understanding of regulatory and permitting processes, and routinely applies that knowledge to move projects through the permitting process quickly and efficiently for clients.

Rory is a reliable and resourceful professional. On a recent construction compliance monitoring effort, he quickly stepped in to perform fish exclusion when staffing fell short. He even proactively anticipated this situation and brought gear to conduct the work. A great job anticipating needs and being prepared!—Kerrie McArthur, Confluence Managing Senior Biologist
